Protecting Your Information
Seligman recognizes that your personal information is yours, not ours. We are committed to protecting your privacy, and our policies and practices are designed to do just that.
Information We Collect About You
Seligman provides investment advice to individuals through programs sometimes referred to as "wrap programs" sponsored by various financial institutions. To provide this advice, Seligman receives information about you from the financial institution. The information we receive and maintain includes items such as your name, Social Security/Tax ID number, address and account number, risk tolerance, personal income, and transaction history.
Information About You That We May Disclose
We never sell your personal information to anyone. We will disclose your personal information to other third parties only as permitted by law. For example, to enable us to provide investment advice to you, we may disclose personal information to necessary third parties (such as custodians, recordkeepers, etc.); to government agencies, such as the Securities and Exchange Commission or the Internal Revenue Service; in response to subpoenas; and to other third parties at your direction. If Seligman ceases to provide investment advice to you, we will nevertheless continue to adhere to these same privacy policies and procedures.
We take steps to safeguard your personal information. We restrict access to employees and third parties involved in administering or servicing your account. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your personal information. When we make information available to your financial institution over the Internet, we use Internet data encryption technology, an advanced security protocol known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, personalized passwords, and other precautions.
